At the time of review it's a sub $400 ***laser**** color printer.
For $246, i couldn't be happier with it!

Competitiveness
What really distinguished this printer from the competition is the availability of low cost replacement toner cartridges for this model.
The colors is great compare to most laser printer i have try easy to setup with wifi printing can print directly from you wifi device
The lexmark laser just didn't have as ubiquitous a market for third party toner replacement.
I have a canon pixma pro series for photo print which is far superior to this .

I wound up purchasing this printer directly from brother instead of amazon for business reasons but i thought to leave a review here as i would have if i had purchased it from amazon

Though it costs three times as much as my canon pixma and doesnt print photos nearly the same quality which was excellent until i paper jam caused it to start acting erratically because this is not a photo printer

Unless you buy a 1000 color laser printer you should not expect a laser printer to print photos as well as an inkjet

Dry powder generally cannot measure up to liquid ink
