Pros

This printer is very solid and well built. Solidly put together at critical places. It is hefty at 38 pounds. The printer is dependable in every way.

Cons

Some pages are not even legible. Paper gets jammed as well. No matter what i do, it hangs up saying the wrong paper is in the mp tray.

A set of generic cartridges costs $60. The same set of brother cartridges cost $230. There is a reason these large printers are discounted. This thing is just a scam to sell more ink.

Brother needs to make sure their advertisement is not misleading as this is. The print quality goes down very quickly requiring you to run multiple attempts to clean the printhead which uses up a ton of ink which — i'm assuming — is part of the manufa... Read More

Which could be why they were out of stock quickly when i was purchasing this one.

Packaging/appearance

Automatically selects envelopes and prints them just fine.

After unpacking it i discovered it only scanned up to legal size documents.

Competitiveness

The ink cartridges are reasonably priced and last much much longer than competitors.

It does so much more than the hp it replaces at a very competitive price.

Unlike the many name brand printers that preceeded it.

Slightly larger than other brands because the quality of the build was put where it is needed.
