Pros

Canon's b&w laser printer is getting old and takes up a fair bit of space. This printer does everything i want and is simple to use.

Resolution goes up to 2400 dpi. Text is crisp and clear and colors are vivid. Photographs are clear, documents are flawless and fast.

An adf makes multi-page faxing, scanning and copying so much easier. Wish it had duplex scanning from the adf.

Cons

Print quality is poor along with having to turn off my vpn to print pictures. The printer says it is getting wifi, but you have to reboot it or the software won't see it on your computer.

Wasted time and a lot of paper trying to run it through its built-in clean cycles and troubleshooting. Brother has no idea how to solve the problem.

This thing is ridiculously loud. In general the crispness and quality of the print is not what our previous hp inkjet photosmart 4200, which always produced high quality output, was.

Quality

Setup was easy, print quality is great, and is very quiet compared to my previous one (a different brand).

This is the second brother printer i've owned and i'm very impressed with the quality and performance of both.

Print quality is unusable even after deep cleaning several times.

But all i got were the starter tanks, when i got in touch with the seller i was told to ship the whole thing back.

Price

The cost savings are impressive along with good print quality and reliability.
