I finally figured out how the sensor was supposed to work

Since these stick out of your printer see the product photos the ink cartridge door wont close and the printer wont work if it thinks the door is open

What this sensor is is a shim that you feed down into the slot where the cartridge door hinge comes through until hits the door closed sensor inside the printer that usually gets hit by the end of the door hinge when you close the door

The instructions dont tell you which way the little plastic filters are supposed to be inserted but i tried them both ways and only one would stick in firmly
