Pros

It takes about 5 seconds to set this machine up to use a minimum of tape. It's surprisingly quick and easy to switch out tape cartridges. It comes with starter tape so i have no clue how long it'll last. The tape is not expensive when purchased throug... Read More

It's very easy to remove the backing (split down the middle) the ui is incredibly intuitive and easy to use. Used this for labeling tool locations in the garage.

It's very quiet and unobtrusive. Only complaint is that while it will accept a mains adaptor, there is not one included. I wish it came with a an ac adapter included.

Cons

The tz refill tape for this 1280 is at or more than $20 per refill. The tape cartridges cost almost as much as the labeller.

The pt-1280 wastes 2 inches of label tape on either side of each label. Each label has an inch of air on the left and the right, for a total of two inches wasted per label. You have to use scissors to trim the 2 separate lines in 1/2 - which defeats t... Read More

All research seems to point that you need to reset your margins and text size every time you want to print. It only adjusts the margin on the right side of the label. It defaults to enormous sized font that i don't think i would ever use.
