Pros

For you beginners, this is a fabulous machine to start on! Brother machines really do a nice stitch! The manuals are exhaustive and easy to use - indexing is excellent. All the steps of setup are there.

The needle threader is a lot of fun and works! The lower bobbin is very easy to place and if you follow the guides as to where to place the thread, it works just fine. Tension is easy to work with.

Cons

This machine is lightweight which makes it good for traveling but bad for everyday sewing. It pulls the fabric to the left when you are sewing so you can't get the correct allowance. Quilt project on hold.

You know that the machine was faulty. It is not in a common socket. That little, *, plastic slide switch at the back obviously is doomed to fail. Then they break or nest up.

Not worth fixing mam. Being a good introductory model it sure does cause a lot more headaches than what it's worth. The manual is very difficult to follow.
