Let's face it, in 2024, a high quality am/fm radio is essentially a single chip, a speaker, a couple of switches, and a plastic case.
Price
The price is a little high at $65 but the radio is totally worth it.
This cc pocket radio is well worth it’s current price on amazon!
Aa batteries outlast aaa by a wide margin so less costly to operate2.
Not the least expensive, but worth any extra cost.

I wrote to ccrane and received a prompt, courteous reply.
I bought this on amazon prime, got it in two days.
Props for rapid, courteous response from ccrane customer service.

Competitiveness
Compared this radio against other portable radios including the pl-660 and a couple weather radios.
I bought this radio to replace a sony am/fm/sw portable (icf-5900w) radio that i purchased in 1978.
Indoor: fm stations came in same as the pl660 ( obviously sound thru crane is best for voice)indoor: am stations, almost the same as pl660.
If you're looking at this radio, look harder at other similar little radios for lass money.

Another nice feature so you know if you need to replace batteries when they get low and arent surprised when it just stops working like most other radios

Since its digital it doesnt drift and there is a signal strength meter like a cell phone so you can vary the orientation of the radio to get a maximum signal

All the adjustment are made with the memory keys on the front panel and all the combos are printed on the back of the battery cover so youll always have them handy
