It kept wanting to oversize my screen making the borders disappear

I could unplug the hdmi and directly plug in vga and it was the right resolution but once i went through this adapter it forced it up to 1080

It was not showing the correct colors on the monitor a clear problem with the dongle since the monitor works just fine with another dongle
