I have the amazon basics brand as well as noname brand cables and they really dont 34feel34 right

The lack of locking mechanism is a big tell if you are getting a proper 34branded34 cable or an offshoot displayport is a trademark as is hdmi which means the manufacturer has to pay a royalty to use the brand but that means it is compliant with the proper specifications of the cable and the protocols that it carries

The locking latch mechanism is optional but ive found i have a better experience with cables that lock versus cables that dont

I struggled for a while to figure out what the problem was dropping the resolution and frame rate to see if it was monitor bound and i was about to look into rmaing my graphics card before i decided to try using a different dp cable
