I did use some usb storage devices as well which worked fine but note that the throughput gets split across the two female ends so the transfer speed will be about 50 as fast as if it were plugged into a dedicated usb port directly

Id have expected that the usba ports would be limited to either usb default 500ma or even the usbifs standard limit of 1
