The braided cable looks like it will last forever and withstand lots of packing and unpacking. The cable is thick and sturdy, seems well-shielded. Durability and sturdiness are qualities that matter more to people on the go.

Cons

Cable constantly falls out of my macbook pro retina (the new one with the touchbar) port with the slightest movements. Connection keeps dropping, and only returns when plug is forced into the receptacle.

Cable doesn't fit securely in a usb-c port. Not compatible with usb type-c function. Does not provide usb 3 speeds. Every other usb c cable i have works brilliantly.

Tried to use it with my 4tb seagate backup plus slim+. Causing damage to the hard drive. I am not ready to use this cable again as it had huge connecting issues and chances of ruining my hdd.

With the old cable, back up took 3-5 hours.

I use this for a small backup 2tb usb 3 external hd on a macbook air.

It is attached to an elements 2620 4tb drive.

If you're stuck in 8 minutes and have a usb-c laptop then this cable should be a no-brainer.
