Pros

Cables have heat shrink stress reliefs which the other brand just had wiring harness/gaffer type tape which doesn't work as well. But this is easily remedied by making my own labels for the cables. In-1 capability of this cable works fine for normal s... Read More

This cable is a mini sas back plane to sata motherboard/pci card interface. It is connected to a lsi 9211-8i hba and so far, no sata/sas data errors. Reverse cable means the sff-8087 36 pin (target) jack will plug into your backplane.

Cons

One of the 4 sata is faulty. All drives falling out of array or not being detected, two drives stating ecc errors. Looks like they go on my dnb list. Caused a lot of wasted time for me, not worth the savings.

The sata cables are thin and clearly not meant for extensive plugging, unplugging, and bending around.

I needed to replace the minisas to 4x sata on my dell poweredge t420 as the last one was kinked and no longer working.

I then tried it with the asr-2405 pcie adapter and a couple of the asr-6405 and asr-6405e pcie adapters which this cable works very well.

You still need to provide power to the 8 ssds, so i bought two startech.
