Pros & Cons
Pros
This microphone is a real hidden gem. It is incredibly usable and versatile.
The cad m179 variable pattern condenser microphone is an excellent sounding mic. It has a continuously variable polar pattern that can be dialled up using a knob recessed into the mic body. There is one dial that literally spin from straight uni-direc... Read More
They're a little bright up top, but not annoyingly so. Don't be afraid of condenser bleed. Make sure it looks pristine before wrapping it up.
This is the kind of workhorse mic you can build around for sure if you wanted to add other sound characteristics down the road. The op-amp based electronics are nice and quiet, giving the mic a nice low noise floor. The only issue i had was the placar... Read More
Cad e100 is a great value for a vo mic. My only gripe is that the plastic carrying case is ridiculously large.
Cons
Reviewer's review is not representative of this product, which was returned to seller. Sounded great except for obvious self-noise problems. Returned it for a warranty repair (shipping from australia with insurance, tracking, sign on receipt etc cost ... Read More
Highlights
Quality
I couldn't be happier with the product so far, and i hope that it grows with me and my voice-over business for years to come.

Price
Sounds nice, and doesn't cost a billion dollars.
I'd still recommend having one, it is completely worth the price.
Packaging/appearance
First of all the packaging is immaculate and appears to be of the highest quality.
It sounds the most natural of all mics(like ur in the room)i use it for recording and reamping.
You'd be hard-pressed to find another mic capable of naturally 'honing' in on a source in the midst of the sort of background n... Read More
The only issue i had was the placard on the mic which labels the lo cut and the -20db switch falls off sometime.
Competitiveness
Comes in a great hard-side plastic case for travel.
Way cheaper than the at2035 and sounds as nice as (or even better than) an at4045.
They appear to use a k67 style, center terminated capsule.
Many lesser mics have a broad mid-bass coloration that muddies the mix.
