It's not toxic like many other products. There is still controversy over whether a cocktail of chemicals can do both. Usually, companies just resort to a combo of chemical and mineral.

Children have never received a sunburn while using this product. No rashes, irritation, or sunburn. Have not had one rash since using this and have used it all summer. California and the summers are hot with strong sun.
