I am not a big fan of teflon and would have preferred a ceramic coating but ceramic coatings are not as commonplace at the moment

A cheap griddle made of who knows what material

While i love to sear burgers for instance on my cast iron flat griddle the resulting grease is problematic and can spill over making a mess
