Pros & Cons
Pros
The pot has two pouring lips - one on each side. The lid doubles as a strainer. The pour spout and lid vents can also be used to quickly drain excess liquid out of a dish—kind of like a built in colander.
A great little pan from a trusted name. This replaces one we have used for at least two decades. It is not top-of-the-line calphalon but is still good and a great bargain.
The nonstick coating is even and works. While that's fairly common with good cookware, and realistically i hand wash my cookware 99% of the time anyway, having the option to throw something in the dishwasher is nice.
Cons
Makes it quite worthless. The rim of the pot has a spout. It's nice for pouring, but it prevents the lid from making a good seal with the edge.
Highlights
Quality
The build quality is good, no-stick, and ample for box of mac and cheese, raviolis, or moderate portion of pasta noodles.
This is a high quality pot with a good non-stick surface.
If you want the full covered effect, just rotate the lid so that the pour spouts don’t line up with the vents, and you’ll get t... Read More
Total exterior height with the cover on and cover handle included is about 7 1/2 inches.
Price
This filled my needs and the price was satisfactory.
Shipping
Just the shipping label on the side of the box nothing else!
Packaging/appearance
Nice to have a lid to drain the cooked contents.
I love the side spout and the draining lid.
The real difference is in the lid and the pour spouts on the pot.
But it's also the only thing i'd change-- it needs to be about 2 inches longer, to allow for a two-handed grip when the pan is ... Read More
Competitiveness
Clean-up, inside and outside, is a breeze (i hand wash it with a scotch-brite non-scratch scrub sponge).
This pot still has a high-quality durable nonstick coating, like i’ve come to expect from calphalon.
Note that if you don't want to use this feature you can simply leave the holes open facing the spouts and get steam released, o... Read More
I explained about a marketing ploy of marking up to mark down and still get a nice profit.
