The lid fits tight and is quality made. I keep it out on my stovetop all the time. It works very well over glass cooktops. This is our first acquaintance with this style lid venting steam.
The nonstick coating is great, and you don't need to baby it, persay, because it doesn't scratch easilly. The non-stick properties are amazing and seems to be more than just a coating. Thenon-stick interior is fabulous.
Cons
Both were received with clear degeneration/defect in the non-stick coating. Permanent coatings are not that, they flake off quickly, and you end up serving up pieces of the coating in your food. This pan is absolutely horrible if you have a glass top ... Read More

Cooks wonderfully and is easily transported with the two handles.
We eat high-end restaurant quality dinner virtally every night.

Competitiveness
I used to be a fan of t-fal - not anymore.
It's made in the usa (toledo, oh).
The new pan i got is another calphalon piece also made in the usa.

I have a bad apartment electric range but you would never know with this pan

It heats evenly for nice browning all around yet it does not burn the food

Never had any problems cleaning it but there is some staining on the bottom of the pan
