Pros

Caphalon premier cookware is dishwasher safe and oven safe. The lid takes up less space in the dishwasher. Calphalon is a premier brand and makes cooking a joy.

After two months of daily use, the non-stick surface stays the same--no scratch, no discoloration. The coating appears heavy and durable. The nonstick surface is not easily scratched.

The tempered glass cover is a flat space saver. Heavy duty glass lid that clicks into the double boiler. The lid is fabulous - it's clear so you can see how your food it cooking even when it's on.

The quality is outstanding and the strainer adds to the versatility. The strainer works as expected, draining all the water from my pot of spaghetti. It's easy to hold in place while straining.

This bain-marie or double boiler is styled very much like our kitchen knives and is very well designed. It's extremely high quality, sturdy, and doesn't wobble at all, so no steam will seep in.

Cons

Now it is outside the return window. I get to play the game with the manufacturer to see if i can get my money back on a pot that didn't even last 6 months.

With both the pros and cons i would still purchase more like it simply because of the quality.

In any event, this is a huge upgrade for me and i'm thrilled with the quality.

It has strainers on either side that can be lined up with the spouts to drain liquids.

To strain the liquid out of the pot, just put the lid on, with the handles on top of each other, and just turn to pour the liquid out.

Price

Both are worth every penny they cost.

Really good combination of quality and price.

This one is super easy to clean because of the nonstick coating.

Because the pot and lid has these notches on the, the lid doesn't slide around.

It is nice and solid with a see-through glass lid.

I've always had good experiences with calphalon products, and this was no exception.
