I didnt have any issues but some people might not like the flat top glass because you cant cover something larger that you might be able to with a concave lid

That said because it is flat and not domed steam distributes evenly under the lid and will escape from whatever point is lifted so getting a nasty steam burn is risk

The lid is the one negative calphalon should consider adding a slide vent to it to cut down possible burn risk
