Pros
Great product. Then comes this little box, my savior. Works great. Works well immediately out of the box. Does what it is supposed to. An excellent product.
It's light, well built, and simply works. It’s also very solidly built. Well built unit. Very pleased with this.

Power input led and midi signal led’s very handy.
The unit is made of metal, the connections are rock solid.
This has been a major frustration as usb midi came out.
Price
This is a bargain compared to how long it took me to find exactly what i was looking for.
This inexpensive device solves the problem and now usb controllers can play nice with old (and new) 5 pin midi devices.
For the cost of the product it should be new and come intact.
Was looking for a low cost solution to be able to control a gakken nsx-39 with a midi keyboard controller and no computer.

The box is made of out metal which is also a plus, to me.
The box provides power to your usb device as well, so don't worry about needing a powered usb hub.
Competitiveness
This is a better value then competing more expensive items.
I have bought several other brands and spent more yet this is the first hub to work.

The connector housings are too thick on good quality midi cables like you would by from a music store

I had to really push hard to force them in and they probably wont come out with the connectors of this device breaking off the board
