Price
Com for bringing it to me at a great price!
Anyway, this is a fine scanner at a great price.
We ordered this scanner through a special priced amazon.
The price on my scanner(d1250u2) was too good to pass up.
Competitiveness
I tried and compared several(most reviewed) scanners, and this scanner is the clear winner.
I was already familiar with photoshop, so this turned out to be the quickest and most convenient way of doing business.
I'd read a millon reviews of other scanners -- agfa, umax, hp, microtek etc.
This thing is a monster compared to my five-year-old, bulky hp and i paid less for it.

The few negative scans i have made did not come out so well and the reported competency of the integrated transparency scanner was one of the selling points for me

Maybe this is as good as it gets for a flatbed with an adaptor but if you really want to get good results with transparencies get a dedicated film scanner
