Pros

The new scanner operates very well and scans quickly with excellent ptcture quality. They provide higher quality scans than multi-function printer-scanners. The canon software is far superior to the competition, in my opinion, and it scans quietly.

This is a great little scanner, and i highly recommend it. Canon is one of the last players in this market and their range of scanners has declined from half a dozen 10 years ago to basically just this one. A great purchase.

Package labeling is very clear and instructive, including directing the user to unlock the switch on the bottom which must be unfastened. It works on my mac laptop-no problem at all. Was plug and play.

Cons

Even with a sharp object could not fix it. This hardware is garbage. The user interface is very poor - clumsy to use, badly designed.

The color scans are horrible. Both pictures uploaded are scanned at 1200 dpi.

After researching online, it seems that canon does not make scanners for windows 10. My older lide 25, a reliable model for 12 years, is no long (expressly) supported for win10 pro. The drivers for this scanner are not compatible with windows 10 home.... Read More

But for the price it did the job for me for simple office work

But then i realized it was 600 and that you cant scan books and nonfed sheets and it was limited to 600 dpi

This item arrived in good condition and fast

Setup was very quick and easy with the included cd

Packaging/appearance

I then clicked on the image capture icon and when the app opened it had already recognized the name of my scanner in its lefthand panel

Competitiveness

I downloaded the canon software and it works with both this software and also with vuescan

If youre scanning a printed photo 4800 dpi wont really make it better
