Pros & Cons
Pros
Canon rebel t6i is a great camera. The new modelo is much better than the t4i. The lens optimizer improves the performance of my old lenses. I was reluctant to swap out lenses in the field -- largely for fear of switching to macro and then coming acro... Read More
An incredible digital slr at a reasonable price. Clean hdmi output make it useful with a $20 hdmi capture dongle for those pesky web calls. Auto focus and face tracking are great and help to prevent the common zoom problem.
Cons
Back control dial is difficult to turn without actuating the left, right, up, down arrow function. When turning off/on the power switch it is easy to inadvertantly turn the mode dial. No inbody stabilization.
Highlights
Quality
Felt lightweight compared to my other rebel but was pleasantly surprised to the quality.
She really love talking pictures, so i just upgraded for her and she is doing a great job with the new camera.
The rebel t8i is a dream with the touchscreen.
Competitiveness
Nice upgraded features from t6i, canon always make a great camera!
Great step up from the rebel t7.
I talked to an owner of a t7i and was sold when told about the lcd that flips out.
Each upgrade has always been considerably better than the previous.

My main camera is a canon 90d which i love using but i was reluctant to swap out lenses in the field largely for fear of switching to macro and then coming across a bird or other animal and not having time to switch back to my long lens
