Pros & Cons
Pros
The printing itself is surprisingly fast and the print quality is astounding. The prints are smudge-proof and durable, and the optional glossy or semi-gloss finishes add a professional touch.
The selphy beats the hassle of inkjet printers, their expensive ink and susceptibility to clogging during long periods of misuse.
Printing photos at home is a whole new level of comfort. Only negative is that it does not have presets so i have to press several * to get to the final print set up.
Cons
This printer seems to be ridden with issues that its predecessor didn't have. Cleaning with an alcohol moistened towel and brush and compressed air of the inner rollers does not help.
The selphy cp1500 turns off randomly when attempting to connect to wifi. I use google wifi, a very popular wifi network, and this * printer will not connect to it. You are forced to directly connect your device to the printer, or use canon's * app to ... Read More
The printer doesn't take standard size photo papers. Troubleshooting tells me that it requires custom paper slightly smaller than 4x6. Now i have an open package of 4x6 canon paper that is useless.
Highlights
Quality
The dye-sublimation technology produces vibrant and true-to-life colors, capturing the essence of my photographs with remarkable precision.
The prints are water resistant immediately with good resolution and vivid colors.
I've left it unused for months and subsequent print quality is the same as if it was under continuous use.
Relying on dye transfer, the printer passes a sheet of photo paper through the machine four times laying color during the first... Read More
Price
Good value with the print ribbon and paper.
And the price for those cartridges has remained reasonably stable even during these inflationary times.
Printing costs at this time works out to about $0.
The price is also great and even the re-fills only come out to under 20¢ a print.
Shipping

Competitiveness
It was easy to use and the quality of the photos seems to be better than what i get from the drug store.
Definitely recommend this one over the kodak one!
The quality of the photos is garrantied and far better than photo-printing by inkjet printers.
They remain ~32 cents per print which is comparable to local drug store or big box store costs per print.
