Pros & Cons
Pros
Lenses are incredibly well constructed, solid in your hand and work perfectly with the canon mirrorless cameras. This is going to unclutter my backpack of several lenses. If possible and funding permits, rent the rf lens and test.
The image stabilization is a welcome feature that really helps will a lot of night photography i simply wouldn’t have tried with my old lens either. It is a versatile lens, particularly for landscapes and night photography. Despite its weight, i reall... Read More
L is usm lens has been an absolute joy. Worth every penny of the cost right now.
Autofocus is ridiculously fast and absolutely silent. Image quality including stabilization are amazing. My only other complaint is how image stabilization works for video.
It’s sturdy yet surprisingly lightweight. The only two big drawbacks are the price and the size. My intention is for an awesome walk around, small, and light setup.
Cons
The only advantage of the rf version is the optical stabilization, which don't use as a videographer as i am shooting interviews from a tripod. I have to return it and i'm sure they will just ship it right out to the next person who orders one.

Price
Worth every penny of the cost right now (to me).
0, but the cost of that lens was out of my budget.
So, is it worth the $2299, for me yes, but i am an avid photographer who wants the best quality.
While the cost of the lens was still a bit high ($1,999.
Packaging/appearance
Fyi mine was in a canon box that has the bag and lens hood.
Packaging, shipping were on point: all round really happy experience :)
Competitiveness
The lens, although offering superb image quality and performance, is quite large compared to its dslr counterparts.
I began comparing thie canon 24-70 rf f2.

All in all i’d say if you have the old ef 2470ii lens and are happy adapting it to the new cameras then by all means keep it for this price point the differences aren’t that important
