I’m happy with the distance range of the extending arm when mounted above my radio on the dash (2019 dodge caravan).
Update: after few weeks of use, it is a god quality item.

I had to mount it a few times because though the suction is good it would fall off the dash of my prius if it was on any space with a curve or if i had the phone angled too far toward me and away from the mount base

It needs a very smooth surface for the suction to really stick will not work on texturized surfaces that are not totally smooth
