The poker is too short for anything much more than turning over glowing coals in this pit

Experience leads me to think that a poker should be longer by at least half the length of a fire pits longest side to avoid getting scorched from sudden flareups this poker doesnt even reach the opposite sides of the upper basin when laid flat

The poker is also too short to comfortably pick up the lid if theres flames going
