Originally ordered a large, but was slightly too big. The xlt fits me perfectly. It's oversized but the cut of the jacket still looks good. I generally wear large in shirts and jackets, but a medium of this jacket fits me.

When you need more than a sweatshirt and less than a heavy coat, this jacket works perfect. Sleeves are a bit long for me but i like that in winter. Just have to remove the coat before entering but in inclimate weather can be undesirable.

They make a great layering pair as they are light weight by themselves. It's true to size and has just enough room to layer a fleece inside. It has carhartt’s rain defense finish & 2 inside pockets just like the vest.

As for warmth near the vermont line i layer, so it's relative. It’s safe to say carhartt knows warmth. Tends to ride up my back.

The jacket tag says medium and xxl and the inside of jacket says medium. This jacket just says 3xl. The zippers are klunky after this when closing the pocket.
