This gives you the best of both worlds the back side is protected from things like keys and other objects you might have in your back while the sides and corners are softer and more shock absorbent should you drop the phone

The rigid back also gives the case a little more structure so its less likely to flex or become out of shape causing the phone to pop out at quiet possibly the worst time

Some clear cases have a pattern or imprint to them but this one is as described crystal clear so if you want to cut out a photo to fit the back of the case it wont be obscured at all

The case does lip the front of the phone slightly offering some face down protection from surface scratches as the phone will be resting on the lip of the case rather then on the screen itself

The case sides are raised so they make viewing and swiping the phones edge features a little clumsy

I like it well enough to keep it as a spare but ended up buying the samsung sview cases which i vastly prefer
