Pros & Cons

Update Pros and Cons

Pros

The eye pieces stay away from henry's face and don't seem to cause any chafing or rubbing. The nose flap provides the best coverage that i've found. I even have a full face one that protects my horses full blaze from sunburn.

Cashew masks are the only masks i buy. They encourage tear production through stinging your horses eye. The cashel crusader fly mask is our preferred fly mask at our barn.

The mule weanling size fits both of our jennies beautifully. One of our girls is petite and one is a touch larger. I have a paso fino- ordered a size small pony/yearling and it fits perfectly. I get a cob/arab size for her and the fit is perfect.

Cons

The netting is so weak it sets on the eyes. The material is soft and cotton like, it lays flat on the horses eyes and i believe irritates them. The velcro strap is too short for my 15-year-old draft horse.

Great quality, love the fit for my shetlands!

I’d previously bought her a real nice fly mask that covered her ears and she ripped it in half in 2 days.

Unfortunately, the velcro strap only lasted 6 weeks and it ripped right off.

Price

Tried a 'cheaper' brand from local tack store - ruined and torn in 3 days!

I just wish they could be more affordable.

They last a year or two, but cost far less than an equine vet bill of 200$ to have your horse’s eye stained and analyzed after ...  Read More

Shipping

Arrived quickly, best mask i have ever used for my percheron.

Packaging/appearance

Looks good on my gelding and he seems to enjoy wearing it, as he'll come to me and try to help me put it on.

Competitiveness

Our qh has a pretty normal size head that, if anything, i consider on the bigger side of normal, and this mask is somewhat loos...  Read More

I like that the flap comes down the sides farther than other brands.
