Quality
The instrument has some of casio's legacy voices onboard, but i pretty much use the grand piano setting with the surround-sound button on.
Other models with the aix sound source have a much wider range of tones, including wind, brass, and string instruments.
Sound quality through headphones isn't as good as the built in speakers.
I gave the quality four stars because i don't know how long the plastic chassis will hold up without getting a chip or crack in it.

Competitiveness
Otherwise, it compares to other competitors by being more portable, with excellent keys, and the output is very clean.

It doesnt have hundreds of other mostly useless voices styles drum patterns sound effects and other gizmos that i would never use
