Pros & Cons
Pros
The keys are nearly full-size, have a matte finish and a good touch sensitive response. The textured keys are a real bonus giving them a slight feeling of ivory.
The body of the keyboard is well constructed and does not feel fragile. It is light and easy to tote around by the handle. It comes with a external power supply, but also runs on batteries.
I think this keyboard could be useful for a beginner as well as an experienced player. The only downside is that without an led screen, you need to learn which key is assigned to which instrument and function. You can connect different types of inputs... Read More
Both have 64 note polyphony. The ct-s1 is a lot of fun to play. This one uses the aix sound. A few minor nits.
The built-in speakers are very serviceable.
Cons
It’s pretty much only good for turn on and go piano sound.
Highlights
Quality
Sound quality of the speakers is fantastic!
The onboard sounds are high quality, you got more sounds you can access just reading the manual a bit, 10 classic casio sounds.
I previously got the ct-s300 and returned it because the lowest 2 full octaves (and below) sound very fake and artificial espec... Read More
This instrument is a quantum leap from the casio cts-201 i've been playing for years.
Price
This is really a great value for the price.
For $200, this keyboard is a real bargain.
To be honest, i probably would have gladly paid closer to $300 for this unit.
The keys have a texture to them, which is also unusual for a keyboard costing $199.
Shipping
Received the item the day after i ordered it.
We received the keyboard in record time.
What i want to say concerns the perfect overseas delivery.
Competitiveness
The casio ct-s1 is an extremely functional, musical, and fantastic sounding instrument that rivals units costing much much more money.
The sound is fuller and better eq'd than a lot of the competition.
It doesn't come with the bag, that's another product, another brand.
Any units in amazon that are cheaper than this one have drawbacks that this casio doesn't have.

The sound quality alone is enough to make someone like me get a lot more serious about learning the keyboard

I used to enjoy playing piano but have not had one for years

From looking at photos of a number of different keyboards with the same number of keys that appears to be a standard foe all but full 88key keyboards

The keyboard is nice for the price but you can’t use a yamaha sustain pedal as there is no way to reverse the polarity on casio keyboards
Posted by a reviewer on Amazon
Every other keyboard i have allows you to switch the polarity to use other pedals even other casios but somehow not this one

I wanted something with a good piano sound but more sounds than a digital piano

Yet i didn’t want a full edm workstation either just something simple and basic to play with decent sounds that is light and portable
