Pros

The watch is not heavy and is super durable. The strap is a bit stiff but actually holds watch centered perfectly. It's big but it looks fine on my wrist, however i'm a big guy.

Overall, this is a great watch, that is very close to perfection. Its bold style commands attention and surely will not disappoint. Could not be happier.

It's very comfortable compared to my regular sized g shock. The gwg-1000 mudmaster is huge! But for sure what happened to me is without doubt an exception.

It works very well as far as i am concerned and is really good at displaying barometric trends. Love the compass. The altimeter and temp functions seem to work well, but i need to do a more tests on them to make sure.

Every night at approximately 12:00am to 12:05am it synchronizes with the atomic clock time signal. Atomic timekeeping is perfect. This watch is great with solor charging.

Cons

Backlight is terrible. No vibrating alarm. Can't get atomic time setting signals/gps/bluetooth etc. That means i'll never be able to enjoy an analog watch that isn't shielded.

Quality is very high and watch is really comfortable.

I love having the large analog watch face over the digital with the rangeman.

The feel of this watch would have been enough to win me, but with the functionality, there is no comparison.

There is no phone app to use with the gwg-1000.

Price

Once i found the price had dropped from 750 to 520 it was a no brainer.

Packaging/appearance

They sent me a brand new watch, in a perfect packaging case.

I like being able to move the hands out of the way to see the small lcd screen.

Found it a lot cheaper and all the packaging in place.

Competitiveness

I wanted a g-shock for my watch collection and decided on the g1000 mudmaster after reading many positive reviews.

5 inch wrist, as i am a big fan of 38-40 mm watches.

Tags, omegas, luminox, mtm, would have to take a back seat.

My main points for going with the mudmaster eventually was the fact that isn't a linkable semi-smartwatch.
