Pros

The casual home 5-shelf ladder bookcase is a simple and attractive bookshelf. The wood feels sturdy and is evenly stained with no blemishes, dents, or dings in the wood. Each shelf is durable enough to hold a good number of decor pieces and books.

The expresso color is nice and richly toned. It fits small areas perfectly snug. The espresso is a deep, dark rich brown.

Cons

It's not easy to assemble if you're doing it by yourself. You have to screw it into the wall and the pieces they give you are cheap and won't hold. The shelves do not fit together, the seams do not line up and leave half inch gaps.

The quality of the build/parts is less than desirable, while the actual wood itself is decent. It is more fragile than a composed / compressed / engineered wood. The sturdiness of it is not the best. It's not sturdy at all.

Even though it was packaged well, there are nicks and scratches. I now have to buy wood scratch markers/crayons to fill in the chips to make it seem new.

Thus far, very happy with the performance and appearance of this ladder shelf.

The dovetail can lift with the slightest pull upward, resulting in the top portion of the shelf coming apart from the bottom portion.

The shipping was quick and i am satisfied with my purchase.

Packaging/appearance

The only confusion i had (and it's because i'm a goof) was which was the shelfs went.

Competitiveness

It is now holding my anime figures and works great, i'm pretty sure it can hold 15lbs per shelf.

Very easy to assemble took me less than 30 mins
