The height is adjustable to meet different needs. It telescopes upwards, but i dont use it like that with my ipad. No teetering, love the adjustable height and the tilt, works great for just about any setting.

Holds phones even w/our chunky cases. Holds the phone as expected with no evident instability. When my iphone xr is on, it feels stable.

The stand is made poorly and tilts to one side. The stand stops at an awkward position and doesn’t lock to the base so it keeps falling. It helps but the biggest problem is, it doesn't weigh much.
