The 20 lbs box comes with a ton of stuff. Recommend buying an organizer right off the bat.
The good thing is that it's correctable with no lasting damage.
Cons
There appears to be a misprint or a weird cut with one tile page. The cardboard is low quality and many of the cardboard items have started to separate from one side. All shipping stickers were stuck and taped to the game box.
Poor quality, missing parts, and slow (if it's even happening) turn around on replacements absolutely cripples the experience. Returned and cancelling my plans to buy the other related games. Not worth the $100+ asking price. Other dungeon crawlers th... Read More
The perverse anti-dice thing is unbelievable. I gather that the designer really dislikes the randomness of dice, but all he’s done is replace it with therandomness of endless decks of cards.
Highlights
Quality
The miniatures and cards are high quality, well worth the higher price tag.
I do recommend purchasing jaws of the lion first due to the introduction to the gloomhaven universe.
The setting is interesting and the writing quality is well above standard board game narrative cheese.

Competitiveness
I will say that it was easier to start with gloomhaven - jatl, and i recommend to start there.
It was fun, required strategizing and it created some competition in the party as well (like who will get to loot the coins first!
A brick and mortar store wouldn't have let this item off the shelf, and would've sold it with a discount.

One thing you should know is the first few tries at the game took 3 to 4 times longer than expected

There is a whole lot to keep track of there are a ton of rules to ponder over and even months into playing you may suddenly realize youve been playing something the wrong way

This game is not easy to learn and it is not quick to set up or play

There is also a version on steam that can help you learn the ins and outs of gameplay though its early access and doesnt follow the same story line as this game currently the campaign from the core game is set to be released late 2021 as of writing this
