For the money i definitely recommend this.
I think it's a great buy for the money.
They have cheap propane detectors on amazon.
Cons: can't find any except it is a little pricey - but definitely worth it.

Update to review: since champion contacted us back, they've given us a refund after we shipped it back to them.
I was fortunate enough that it was delivered the very next day.

In the box is the correct amount of oil for the engine with a funnel and tools.
Competitiveness
I also own a yamaha 2500 watt generator that is twice the size and weight of this champion and costs more than twice as much.
It has more power than the more expensive honda or yamaha, it is quieter than the more expensive predator.
I think we just got a lemon, because we ended up buying another champion that we like better than the first kind described here.

Finally i read another review here that said they had the same issue tried starting with gas then the propane option worked

So i did that and had the same outcome start it with a bit of gas mine ran for an hour then ran out of gas then tried starting with propane and it worked

I ran it for three hours the first day put it away took it out the next day and started right up with gas
