The pour over cone is oddly shaped. I have tried with hario filter paper, walmart filter paper.

Just fold filter at the seams before using to allow for longer brew time & best flavor!
Thrilled with it and it’s easy to clean.
Edit as of 04/21/2020: the plastic cone is bpa free according to chef'n.
The pour spout could be improved, but overall, i couldn't be happier with this purchase.
Price
In my opinion, $17 is wayyyyy too much $$ for this item.
Fyi: i bought mine in late february 2020 for only $4.
The only downside is the price, but it's worth the investment.

Since i havent been able to find any info on whether or not the plastic cone is bpa free i emailed chefn to get the answer
