It seems to do a much better job than the handheld ones. Make sure to read the enclosed booklet and follow.
The blade guides work very well, it's reasonably quiet, and the instruction manual is very thorough and informative. It sort of straightens the blade if it has not been run down too much. It is easy to use and works wonders on any kind of knife.
The m130 does a great job at sharpening knives. Keep this sharpener on the counter to use as a steel.

It shakes and moves around from the unbalanced action. You can't keep a knife in it and hold it straight.

All except the santoku have been sharpened with the chef’s choice to my satisfaction.

While i thought the price was high for a single purpose tool, i would definitely recommend it.
