Pros & Cons
Pros
The sharpener works but it takes a lot of time to train each blade to the angle that the sharpener uses. Works very well to sharpen and keep sharp my best kitchen knives. Thicker metal knives have no problems fitting into the sharpening slots. His com... Read More
Bought this mfg and model based on a specific recommendation from at professional chef. Easy to use. Great tool to have in the pantry.
For the $30 price, an awesome buy. Bought two of this item as gifts. This the replacement because my original one was used up.
Cons
Chef's choice sharpener is a good brand, save your money for a better model. The model 300 only sharpens straight edged knives. The sharpened edge looks like someone took an old rat tail file with metal fragments in the file and sharpened it.
The seller, in spite of claiming it was functional, had obviously never turned the * on. Get the presto pro instead of this junk.
The magnets were recessed and the surrounding plastic was malformed. This is where it rubs and vibrates against the magnet and malformed plastic. There was metal coming off but not much of an edge.
Don't waste your time and money. Just doesn't work. Doesn't meet my expectations.
