Pros & Cons
Pros
For those of you who sharpen chisels, the idea of a burr formed during sharpening seems exactly the same for the knife sharpening process using this device. Used the trizor xv to sharpen old dull stainless steel kitchen knives that previously had been... Read More
My henckels are sharper than new. To those who say this unit scratched their i'm not sure how you managed that.
Cons
The only reason i purchased this item is because it could be serviced. I believe, someone intentionally mislead the customers with misleading title and description.
Perhaps sharpening a thin-blade knife will give advertised results. Several slow pulls on stage 2 to get the burr. It takes 15~20 minutes per knife to restore the edge! The scratches left are similar to what you'd get if you use a rough cleaning pad t... Read More
Theoretically, this sharpener sounds perfect but upon using i realized it is:. It’s not worth 150$ for a throwaway sharpener. It's not easy to use. The thing about cheap styrofoam is that they break into small pieces and stick to everything.
Highlights
Quality
Easy to use and seems solidly built.
After sharpening many old knives, the technique recommended made more sense and i developed a better feel for that rolled edge ... Read More
This sharpener absolutely scratches your knives or leaves a polish mark up on the blade.
The first time i used my chef’s knife, the blade cut right through the lime and kinda stuck in the bamboo cutting board.
Price
If you can keep this for years to come with its ability to sharpen even then, the price becomes even more of a bargain.
Pretty expensive but wow it is worth it.
You could buy a $50 one and spend an hour and get an okay edge.
Shipping
I asked for an exchange due to an error in the usage voltage, and they sent me a new product right away.
Competitiveness
This knife sharpener is much better than any i've owned, and i have probably owned four or five electric ones over the past forty years.
It puts an edge on a knife that is as sharp as that on a brand new high quality knife.
The other couple knives were stainless knives from both mercer cutlery and j.
