Be on my expectations. It cleans up with hand washing just fine. With older, often painful hands, it probably works better to not have the additional ceramic weight.

I would have preferred omitting the gold line on the handle so that this could be placed in a microwave

Since i dont use a dw much im not very impacted by the handwash recommendation but that too might be a nuisance to remember by others
