Out of the box we have a couple problems

First problem flashing from the plastic molding process left over on some areas

Second problem it looks obvious to me that the holes that are tapped threaded in the unit were tapped from the inside with a tapered tap and they did not run the tap all the way thru the hole to complete the threads

Because you have to insert and thread the knob that tightens the mirror from the outside you never have a chance at properly screwing it in as the threads on the outside were never fully formed due to the tapered tap not being run far enough through to form any real amount of threads on the outside of the hole in the mirror housing

Simple get yourself a 3816 tap run it thru the hole all the way in and back out
