Pros & Cons
Pros
The deployment is buttery smooth, feel in the hand is perfect and with s35vn this seems almost too good to be true. This knife is considerably less expensive than similar knives available in cpm s35vn. Tiny little stamp on blade shows s35vn.
The combination of wood and patterned damascus is classic. Under magnification it looks like you can see the ridges of the pattern from the acid etch process used in modern damascus steel. It is the only knife that i have with a higher steel grade tha... Read More
Only issue is that it opens when i take it out of my work pants. Knife can be flipped open by the blade studs or the flipper lever. Lock is positive and firm with no play.
The micarta handle strikes a good balance between smooth and grippy. I'm a sort of micarta-phile. Linen micarta, burlap micarta and denim micarta & the ever common is this really micarta or is it g-10?
You have a finger flicker and thumb stud both work very well. The deployment is butter smooth and instant. It has a very smooth action and deploys reliably.
Cons
The flipper is not great. More of a gimmick. The thin sharp blade is not very durable.
Highlights
Quality
Very impressed with the quality of this knife.
00 i’m very happy with the knife.
However there is one disappointment with the design.
It's a shame the handle material isn't more balanced with the blade itself.
Price
S35vn steel is perfect, the price is below 100$ which makes this in my book amazing value for money.
The micartia handle is excellent , s35vn for this price is a really good deal.
This is a premium knife at a budget price.
Packaging/appearance
Very sharp right out of the box.
This life is super super super sharp right out of the box.
It is as sharp as a scalpel right out of the box.
Competitiveness
I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 simply because of the minor fit and finish issues - the competition among quality sub - $100.
I use it for a quick on-hand knife to cut boxes, packaging, lines, steak, etc.
But, for me, it's all about the blade steel - a s35vn flipper for about eighty bucks.
I was looking to replace my current every day carry - a kizer gemini flipper with vg10 steel.
