Pros

Tigers tongue sponge applies the woodoil/wax smoothly. The sponge portion fits in the wax tin and it spreads the wax evenly on the coat. The round wood feels good in the hand and the sponge does a good job evenly coating the cutting board.

Works as needed, durable and easy to clean. It has a cap to keep the oil from leaking out. This device is a lot less hassle to use.

Cons

The new v2 design maple block misses the mark! Not worth the cost nor purchase. What a mess. Threw it in the trash.

Key issue is foam coarseness, plus stiffness. A simple cloth works far better at surface coverage - uniformity, plus conformity to curves. When using the appicator, the foam squishes down and becomes lopsided.

The sponge part of the tool is completely worthless. The pores on the sponge end are so large the product gets hidden up in it. The handle is not comfortable to hold. It compresses too easily, causing the handle to rub against your work.
