Pros
High setting for the large adapter tip is very hot and should be used gently so the fiber doesn't get burned/scorched. Very effective with applique.
Recommend this to any crafter or sewing, encaustic, quilter, collage. It is reallly sharp!
There was a cover all around the heated metal to prevent from burning your self if it fell on you. Cover - wrap wire around the red part, it's the only way to prevent yourself from turning a part of your fingers white.
Cons
Hot enough to instantly cause second degree burns. It is at least as 2nd degree burn (instant white sizzling skin). If you have one of these, chances are you are going to get burned sooner or later!
The metal shaft does not extend at all into the handle - this is, i believe a design flaw. The seams on this bears are impossible to reach with my iron.
The design is terrible and makes the iron completely useless. The protective cage is almost useless and i burned my for finger on the screw!

But then i did experiment on a old needle felt sculpture thats been sitting out unprotected for about two years and has dust on it
