This mat is highly absorbent. It absorbs a lot more than i expected. I do spill when making coffee, the mat helps me to keep my countertop from being sticky and stained.

It is a larger mat so i cut it in half and it did not effect the mat at all

I originally got this mat to put under my coffee machine but it’s too absorbent for that and would’ve been more of a mess to clean up than just wiping off the counters

I also wouldn’t want coffee to soak into this mat because i imagine it would be disgusting after a few spills
