For a few bucks, a compass that i can just clip on my pants' belt loops, practically weightless, feels sturdy enough.

I would however keep anything magnetic far from the compose since mine seems effected by something magnetic within a foot maybe 2 though i am not entirely sure if this is normal i do know some magnets can effect a compose just not sure how close they have to be

I can only assume that most people are wondering why their compass doesnt point directly north as it is shown on a typical map

If youre doing some hardcore boy scouting or are in the military this compass wont give you all the highspeed extras you get from a lensatic compass or any other kind of fancy look at me type of compass

Like most cheap compasses the glow in the dark stuff will probably fade with time but in the vast majority of situations you may be in you will not be navigating at night

If for some reason you are navigating at night it is unlikely that you will be in pitch black so you should be able to see any compass well enough to continue movement
