While the bells seem to keep the bears away as we have yet to come in contact with any the bells unfortunately scare off all the other animals including the deer

I personally have run into a few bears in the woods all black bears luckily and thankfully only startled one which stood up on its hind legs about 10 yards away from me to see what i was before running off and it was one of the scariest moments i’ve had in the woods and would likely have been avoided had i had bells
