The metal rim inside the compass is sharp around the edges and made from a thin metal. Terribly inaccurate due to this. If this compass isn't completely level it seems to rub internally as its turning and jam therefore reading false data.

My husband who is a land development engineer told me the streets in our city are actually 18 degrees or something off of true north
